Join me at my home studio in Greensboro, AL for a day-long indigo intensive! We’ll look at japanese indigo plants, and explore the many ways that pigment can be extracted from this magical plant. Participants will see the beginning of small-scale pigment extraction, as well as explore fresh-leaf dyeing on protein fibers, and set up a vat using my home-grown indigo.
A yard of cotton fabric will be provided for experimentation with the vat, as well as protein fiber for experimenting with fresh leaf techniques. Participants are encouraged to bring their own natural fiber goods from home, along with gloves and an apron. A home-made lunch will be provided.
